When you open Remote it asks you to choose a library, then shows a 4 digit code (make sure wifi is on and you are not connected via USB to the macbook). At this point, launch iTunes and select your iPhone from the sidebar on the left. When you do this, the center screen in iTunes should change to allow you to enter the 4 digit code. as soon as you do that, the screen on your iPhone should change and show all your music on your macbook.

You might have to turn the option on in iTunes within the preferences.

Preferences -> Devices -> 'Look for iPod touch, iPhone and iPad Remotes' (down at the bottom, make sure the box is checked.)

I wonder when Apple is going to release the iPad version of Remote.
