Hi, every time I turn on my Touch there's a number 1 on the App Store icon so I click it and then it asks for my iTunes password and logs into it. There are "no updates" to my apps. Why is this happening today? Is it happening to you too and it's just a country-wide glitch?

I've had a couple of times when the app update feature toggles between wanting to update and not over a few minutes. Usually it is resolved by pressing the "update" button and making it check again.

If it happens consistently and with the same app then delete from the iPod and reload-- being careful, of course, if there is any data that goes with the app.

Well, part of the problem is... it doesn't tell me WHICH app it wants to update. There's the 1 and then goes directly to the iTunes store after password input. No mention of the App it wants to update and nothing happens. Very weird and a pain in the ass not knowing if it's for real or not. I'll just ignore it until tomorrow.

Just an update that, thankfully, this odd behaviour stopped today. There was some sort of communication glitch with iTunes and my Touch but Apple has apparently fixed it.
