I'm looking to purchase an Apple TV that has been hacked off Craigslist. Is it possible to factory restore the Apple TV and then put the Take 2 (latest firmware) on the Apple TV and remove the hack?

i believe so. unless the hack they used included hardware modifications, which could complicate things.

Yes, anytime you do a factory restore, it returns to the original software on the AppleTV. I've done it, many times with a hacked AppleTV.
