This has been mentioned in another thread. Download straight off the website.

Reread my post. I asked if it is supposed to be in the software update tool, not where can download it.

I wanted to know if something was off about my software-update tool.

1) Nowhere in your first post did you mention you thought something was wrong with your software update tool

2) iTunes isn't on there yet.

Usually takes a while for it to get posted to Software Update. If you want to be on the bleeding edge after a keynote, always best to go right to the web page.

He's right, you shouldn't jump on someone for not answering a question you didn't even ask.... LOL.

Now that aside, like it's stated above no theres nothing wrong with your software update. It just doesn't show up there right away with a new release like this.

At 6:47 Ottawa time, September 9, 2008, I am downloading iTunes 8 (and some others) from the Software Update selection on my computer.

You guys are very studious, your right I did not mention I thought I might have a problem in my post.

I simply wanted to know if iTunes8 was 'supposed' to be in the software update, which is what I asked. I did not think I would have to explain in detail my speculative thoughts, there was no need.

Thanks to Flipstar, Carex, SoyMac and Lars for informative replies.

I got mine running right now, but the album artwork takes a while to load the first time if you have a lot of music.
