A very good Rogers experience

(I posted this in another thread but thought it appropriate to make a new thread with - unbelievably - cudos to Rogers. Gotta give credit where credit is due)

I've got a 1st gen iPhone and have decided to get the 3G. I tried calling the local Rogers outlets, but only 8GB models (and very few of those) were available in Calgary. I started to order online, but given that I'm an existing customer I really didn't want to start paying bills via credit card (it's the only option, but you can change it later). While I was online, one of their live agents popped in and offered to help. I chatted with her for a few mins and she eventually suggested that I just phone (1.888.ROGERS1) and order the phone that way. I didn't have to wait long, had a very, very helpful gal help me out (and explain the rate plans), and I ordered what I wanted. My customer experience was EXCELLENT and in 3-5 business days the phone should be here without all the fuss of phoning local dealers. Despite all the bashing Rogers has been getting in general, my experience was above my expectation (and the $30 6GB plan really doesn't seem that crazy). I'm pretty happy actually!

Just another perk for being a long time Rogers customer I would assume. My account gets overnight shipping when we order phones over the phone.

I also had a really good experience with Rogers. I was calling up stores for about a week before I decided to just call them directly... The rep I talked to was really friendly and really helpful and I had absolutely no problems upgrading to the iPhone and adding the $30 6gb data plan to my account. She was really surprised to hear me use the term "tier" when I asked about it and was just generally nice to talk to.

It sure was a difference from having to deal with people in the stores. Out of the few that I went to or called, there were only really 2 people who were very friendly and only one of them actually gave me useful information.

Wow, are you seriously continuing this asinine practice of accusing anyone who doesn't agree with the Rogers-hating crowd of working for Rogers.

I mean, seriously - does anyone think this is a mature counterpoint?

"I don't like Pepsi - it's too sweet."
"I kind of like Pepsi."
"Wow, you must be a shill for Pepsi!"

Ridiculous.

lol wanna hear a good experience... I just switched to Rogers 2 days ago, got an iPhone 16GB white.. a thing of beauty btw! Anyways... I got a voice plan & $30/6GB plan... I surfed the web a lot with it in 2 days... on the 3rd day... today. In the morning I noticed I couldn't make any calls or sent sms messages. I called *611 & they said "You have a $400 bill overdue" I naturally laughed at them & said how on earth did I in 2 days make a $400 bill?

... 45min later on the phone with them...

They finally figured out that my 6GB data plan was not activated on my account properly & they'd refund me that charge! I was like... omg... it took you THAT long to figure that out? Genius's

Oh & does anyone know WHY ON EARTH we can't send picture messages on our iPhones? I know my bro's jailbroken one can but wtf... an important feature like that to leave out? Common Apple & Rogers... thats shameful!
