iPod Touch Update Anytime Soon?

Hi All...apologies if this has been asked already, but does anyone have a tea-leaf of a clue when we could be expecting the next iPod Touch update?

I ask because I have decided that I am, for sure, not buying an iPhone. I have a 'Berry at work and would only likely use the WiFi abilities on an iPhone anyways. So, why bother with that at all when I can just go for the iPod Touch instead?

I'm in no hurry...I have a regular iPod that is still working just fine (4th gen)...but was just curious if anyone's got an educated guess.

Cheers.

2.0 has been up since the 15th. It cost $10 for the upgrade though, but you can use most of the iphone apps.

I suspect he meant hardware upgrades, as in higher capacity hard drives.

Having just ordered one from the refurb site my guess is tomorrow Honestly given there's the student deal on at the moment I'd imagine that as soon as that expires we'll see a refresh soon there after...ie Sept/Oct time frame.

Good timing, Andrew - the iPod Touch (refurb) was discounted just this morning... ~$100 off yesterday's prices! I'm being sorely tempted by that 8-gigger for $209...

Those prices were there yesterday too...that's why I jumped at the iTouch for $209.

FYI today's Wal-Mart flyer has the iTouch listed as $178 which is obviously a mis print and most stores are apparently not honoring the flyer but you may get lucky

Anyone tried taking the Wal Mart flyer to another store that claims to match any price? (Future Shop, Staples, Best Buy, etc)
