Don't you wish you could go back in time when Fido was previously owned by Microcell... well before the CRTC allowed it to be bought out by Rogers in 2004

Why choose Fido?
With Fido rates, you control your communications as never before. Forget about complicated time-of-day discounts: call when you feel like it. Our rates are the same, day or night... with no surprises!
Who is Fido?
Fido embodies a brave new generation of communications, bringing wireless communications within easy reach of every Canadian. Right on the threshold of the 21st Century, Fido opens the door to the world of Personal Communications Services (PCS), incorporating an array of personalized, easy-to-use services.
Yes, I recall that was the case. But I wonder if they could have expanded the network by increasing customers... or perhaps collaboration by a foreign investor such as T-Mobile.
I miss the old Fido too. They were such a good company until CityFido hammered their network. I had to switch because of the reduced call quality. But more importantly because I didn't want to have anything to do with Rogers!
I've been with Telus for about five years now and they have excellent customer service. Perhaps not as 'cool' as Fido was, but at the end of the day it's just a phone
I've been on Fido prepaid for almost 10 years, believe it or not. Back in the day, they were the only GSM carrier arround, and being able to text message overseas was important to me.
In fact, the SIM card in my iPhone came shipped with the Nokia 5190 I purchased! It only ever lived in another phone, a hand-me-down Sony Ericsson k700i.
I'm still not sure whether I'll stay with Fido for the iPhone plans, or just bundle it with all the other services I already have with with Rogers.
In 2001, they also had unlimited data (including in the US!) for $50... grrr.
