YouTube on prev unlocked iPhone

there are certainly a few methods out there.

Seemingly, using the new vers of INdependence out the gate (v. 1.2.1 or 1.2.1a <---- same ones) will solve the post tweaking challenges

But if you were like I and unlocked it w/ a slightly older vers of INdependence, and want to unleach the YT experience on your iPhone, follow along. Pls inspect the links you use, as they may not all be upto date, esp light of all the tutorials that are avail, they're not staying on top links w new s/w availability.

som here's what I did:

I 1st downloaded this file. You should end up with a folder w/ 3 files in it. Folder on your desktop should also be called thethreefiles1

So, my phone was unlocked using this turorial.

Then, using the same Cyberduck app, I reconnected to the iPhone using the phone's IP address and all the deets needed (username and passwrd, all outlined in step 4 of tutorial).

I then did the following

- Located the /var/root/Library/Lockdown/ directory and deleted the existing data_ark.plist, device_private_key.pem, device_public_key.pem, and activation_records folder (whole thing, including everying inside it)
- Upload the 3 files from the your thethreefiles1 folder --> you can just drag them in the folder or overwrite the old ones (and avoid the prev step).
- Power off the phone, then turn it back on
- You should be able to get YT working.

It has worked like a charm for me. Was so easy, seemed almost boring - if that makes any sense.

Best of luck gents.

Post all challenges in detail so we can help as much as possible.

H

I did all that the first time too, to get the full experience.

Now when I do a restore I simply use independence and one click does it all.

I had originally used this method, but it broke iTunes Syncing, so I restored and used iNdependence. Much easier.

It's possible that I had problems because I used a different version of the files, but who knows. If your iPhone is already activated, just unactivate it and reactivate with iNdependence 1.2.1. Probably easier and definitely safer than manually modifying the files IMHO.
