In going thru some old magazines, I came across an article from Inside Entertainment, listing sites for downloading movies and tv shows. Has anyone had any experience with this site? It seems too good to be true, and you know what they say....

In searching for a Canadian based Mac community that I could turn to for some home grown advice and support, I was happy that I had found ehmac. However, based on the two answers to my query, clearly I should be looking "elsewhere" for some friendly support. Sorry for intruding.
You can pretend to be hurt if you like, but repeating the myipondownloads reference borders on spam.
It's hard to believe that someone with a computer and internet access can't find what they are looking for in this regard, but if you want some hand-holding, here you go: it's legal, free and extensive.

Holy crap.....I don't know what kind of people you've had on this board before, but I am not hurt, just blown away by your attitude. Yes, hard to believe there are people new to computers, but apparently I'm living proof. Should I contact the magazine I found the link in and accuse them of illegal printing??
No need to hold my hand, I can find my way to the link you posted, and thank you for that, hope it didn't hurt too much to post it. sheesh.

ehMac has seen all kinds of characters before.

It's a (semi)free world and publishers can print almost anything they want. I'm not sure what grounds you could sue them on...

We are, aren't you? Terse responses should be expected if you ask certain questions which are in contradiction to the terms of agreement when you signed up for this forum. You didread the rules, right?
Yes, I did read (and just re-read) the terms, the main rule apparently is to "be nice". However, I do see that you are a tight knit community, which is great, but please know that not everyone is techno-savvy and if the point of commenting on my post is to make me feel stupid, then mission accomplished. I'm new (obviously) and will merely lurk and try to learn. All I want to do is watch movies and tv shows on my new iPod, for heaven's sake. I honestly didn't mean to start trouble.

On behalf of the community, we understand your want. A lot of us have the same want. I'm not a hypocrite, I do obtain media for my iPod in less than gray-area ways as do many other iPod owners. The discussion about tips, how-tos and links to relevant sites in transferring copyrighted material is a no-no on ehMac. ehmax has made a very nice sandbox for all us Macheads to play in and I'm not going to pee in it.

You're now part of that community too.

If I personally put you off, I do apologize. I suggest it's better to participate, post often and welcome to ehMac.
Apologies as well, it just seemed to be clear from the other thread that you were aware that the source you referenced was illegal. And while filesharing isn't strictly illegal in Canada, sites like that are and as pointed out above, are verboten here.
Really the only thing that kept me from using the "Report" button for this thread was your join date.
We do hope you stay around--you've been here nearly as long as I have--but somehow managed to have a life and refrain from posting as much as some of us...
But please note that paying for music and movies that do not find their way into the public domain should remain an option. At least one that we discuss here. I think if you search "archive.org" as a frame of reference you'll find other similar sites mentioned nearby.
