Why can't you stand itunes? I mean give a specific reason why you hate it so that its a lot easier to suggest a program.

I don't know anything about this program but it will let you manage an iPod, independent of iTunes.

I've read a few very negative things about iTunes and Quicktime with regards to Windows but never much in the way of specifics.

It's not a "Windows" program (it's made by Apple, eww ). Some PC users can't stomach using anything made by Apple. I bet he/she would have purchased an HP iPod if they were still available.

(Disclaimer: Above said in jest, as he's looking for a "PC" alternative to iTunes.)

Trying doing a search for a Winamp plugin.

http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=138888

I've used Winamp for over 8 years now, supports lots of formats like AAC Plus and OGG Vorbis, and certainly seems less bloated in comparison to iTunes, RealPlayer or Windows Media Player.

I don't know what you specifically don't like about iTunes (Admittedly, it's large, slow and most recently buggy on the PC side compared to it's Mac equivalent), but maybe Winamp will fit the bill.

it's quite annoying that apple just had to make it so you use their program to transfer files. couldn't of made it like an archos or iaudio player
