I work with someone who has an older Ipod and he mentionned that the battery is the price, almost, of the ipod itself, something like $160.00. Wasn't that issue resolved or seen to by Apple?
You can try ebay and buy one for 1¢ and $10 shipping, and you're still on top, if you have a steady hand it's really easy, plus there's videos all over the web showing how it's done.
If you don't want to do the surgery yourself, try irepair.ca They do it for $30, you order it, they send a box, you mail them your iPod, they exchange the battery and send it back.
Thanks all. I thought Apple had somehow come out with a cheaper answer to their expensive batteries from all the flak they took. Will pass on the message..
I have somewhat related question. Can I replace the 5th gen battery with 5.5gen battery since it the new one claims to have more juice when playing videos.
