Frozen iPod

My iPod has frozen up. It's turned on and at the screen where its should play the song (the arrow in the top left corner shows). What can I do to unfreeze it?

Hold down the top and bottom buttons until it shuts off.

you mean to hold down the Menu button and the Play/Pause button at the same time?

yes. Hold it down for about 5 secs or until it shuts off.

or Menu and Center button if it is a newer model.
