I have USB 1.1 - Can you recommend a iPod shuffle power solution?
Well, I came to the stark realization last night through another thread that my Rev.A AlPB 867 has usb 1.1 only....
That sucked for my external 2.5 drive using usb 2.0, but this morning I was thinking about my shuffle that's due to arrive...
How will I recharge it?
I have a usb 2.0 port on my PC, but I'd prefer something I can carry with my PB to recharge/fill my shuffle.
Obviously I'm stuck with 1.1 speeds on my PB, that I can handle (until the new G5s come out)... but as for recharging the stick, what can you recommend?
I've seen Apple's usb charger ~$39 cad and the iPod dock.
The charger is appealing, but I'd prefer something less bulky and the dock will probably have the problem of not charging the stick even though it has a 2.0 interface - I have a feeling that it doesn't have the ability to draw enough power from a 1.1 connection on the PB.
Is there a female USB 2.0 power adapter out there that's albeit ugly but simple/compact?
Sorry about the long winded explaination, but I wanted to put my thoughts on the matter in to stir the pot a bit.

Correct. The Apple Power Adaptor is your best bet. It's not that bulky.

The Shuffle will charge from your ports on your PB. I have the same PB and a Shuffle and it charges fine. USB1.1 is not the issue. What will be an issue is that the Shuffle is wide enough to block the neighbouring ports. so either no monitor out or no firewire depending on what port you use.
I can always count on this community for helpful insight. Thanks for relieving my doubts. I think I'll wait a month or so until the 3rd party accessory blitz befalls shuffle owners before I decide on a portable charger.
