Considering all the new prices and iPods that just came out, I'm wondering what a 3rd Gen, 30GB iPod would fetch.
This Friday (Feb 23,) I'll be receiving a *brand new* refurbished 30GB iPod from Apple Canada (a repair replacement.) It should be in perfect condition and would include a 90 days warranty (note: you would not be able to purchase additional Applecare as the unit is refurbished.)
The new prices on the iPods release today are:
iPod Photo - 30GB: $439
iPod Photo - 60GB: $569
iPod mini 4GB: $249
iPod mini 6GB: $319
iPod - 20GB: $379
iPod - 40GB: Not available.
Obviously $439 is too high (iPod Photo 30GB) and $379 is too low (iPod 20GB.) Would $400 be appropriate?
Also, is there a possibility that Apple would "upgrade" my replacement iPod to a 40GB? I sent in a 30GB, but I can't see them having tons of refurbished 30GB units laying around.
Even considering that the 30GB will be *dare I say it* ... virgin? Remember, this is a brand new replacement unit, so it won't look or act its age. It would also have a 90 warranty from Apple, so again, not a typical used iPod.
I haven't decided if I'm selling it. The sale would only include the 30GB iPod and a firewire connector wire.
There's obviously a lot of "value" in this iPod ... I may decide to just used it myself, but I'd like to get some opinions.
I bought my 40gb iPod off Pamela for 400. Sometime afterwards I actually saw some people selling their 40gb's for 350. I'm thinking 350 max if your lucky.
