iPod Warranty Help Needed
I have a 4G iPod that I purchased in November, so it is still under full warranty. (including shipping coverage, which expires six months after purchasing the iPod)
Soon after I bought it however, I needed to have the broken earbuds replaced, and I used my serial number from the iPod to get them for free. Now I'm having a problem with the iPod itself, (cracked scroll wheel) so I went back to the support site, and used the same serial number. It asks me when I purchased the iPod (November 30, 2004) and then tells me that Apple's records indicate that I purchased the iPod more than six months ago, so I will have to pay an extra $40 for shipping!
I think that perhaps when I registered the iPod the first time, (for the earbud repair) I entered the wrong purchase date.
How can I resolve this?
