How to transfer music from iMac to iPhone

I have an iMac running 10.6.8 and an iPhone 6S running 10.1.1. I would like to transfer my music from the iMac to the phone WITHOUT using iTunes (because my Mac is too old, and cannot update to latest). What are my options re: 3 rd party software?
Thanks, Kevin.

I'd suggest checking out and using iMazing.app.

Or one of the suggested alternatives.

https://imazing.com
https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/27830/imazing

BTW, it can create a better backup than iTunes that's not even needed with the latest iMazing 2 version.

But for Mac OS X 10.6.8, you'll need the previous version:
DiskAid 6.7.6 (OS X 10.6, Intel64/Intel32)
available via the macupdate page or use one of the older alternatives such as:
iexplorer
https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/31722/iexplorer
or the original Senuti, 10.6.8 compatible:

Are you able to use iTunes match with your version of iTunes? If so, the one time yearly fee makes it simple as you have all your music on your phone all the time to stream, or direct download from the phone. I like it for the simplicity and how it unifies my media.
