Jailbroken Apple TV 1 (no boardcom) vs Apple TV 2?

Hi Everyone, I have a few questions about the Apple TVs...

I have an Apple TV first gen that I used patchstick on and has xbmc running..i am not interested in using a crystal boardcom. I was wondering if I should get an Apple TV 2? What would be the pros/cons of them both? Should i run crystalBuntu on it through USB drive even though i dont have the boardcom on it? I have read mixed thoughts but i am not entirely clear on which is better?

Can you guys shed some light?

Thanks!

The Apple Tv 2 has one cool advantage, Airplay. Being able to stream CBC, CTV, and Global apps from an iOS 5 device is pretty cool. Could not get it to work with the CityTV app with my iPhone 4 and my parent's Apple TV2 ( I have the first gen at home). I am going to try my iPad 2nd gen next time. It will allow me to cut the cord with satellite. Just something else to consider.

Jailbroken ATV2 will read a NAS drive as well, which allows it to overcome the one thing an ATV1 has over it, no storage. I have been running a Jailbroken ATV2 for over a year with Firecore on it and have been very happy with it. I have XBMC on it, but Firecore's media player is pretty basic (but works great), which allows my girlfriend to use it easily. Her computer skills are pretty basic, and it has a few less steps than using XBMC.
