Next gen iPod Nano thoughts?

I know iPods don't get the love and attention anymore, but my huge 30gb doesn't cut it anymore for jogging.

I'm looking to pick one up a Nano, but it seems due for an update. Perhaps one with built in GPS? A camera? Or will they'll just sit tight, given the lack of competition and demand for MP3 devices.

Any thoughts on where Apple might go for their next generation iPod Nano?

I don't think it will have a camera or GPS (are really worried about getting lost out on your runs ) it is just too small.

Personally I wouldn't bother waiting. I can't see any update being all that spectacular, just buy one now and stop jogging with a little brick attached to you.

It will be a small tablet that dissolves on your tongue and doesn't leave a film. From that point on you will hear music and see flashing lights.

I think it could have a GPS and the ability to install apps. There is an app I use for jogging on my iPhone that I would love to have on an iPod nano.

I feel the opposite. I still prefer navigating the older nanos for running. I find the touch screen to be cumbersome.

It won't have GPS, as the chips aren't small enough yet. That, and it would also need a SIM slot, antennas, etc. Not going to happen.

Apps would be unlikely, given that it would further fragment the iOS market. I don't see Apple doing that.

Agreed. The candy bar shaped nano was much easier to hold and navigate with one hand.

Clipping it to a shirt sleeve makes it difficult to flip through songs while on the move. Although if you spring extra for the earbuds with controls on it, you can do that quite quickly. Or buy a nano watchband.

Looks small enough to me.

Not combined with all the other chips necessary (not to mention the larger battery required).
