Margaret- have you tried Zen Brush? I have it on my iPhone. I have lots of drawing/ painting apps on my iPhone and Mac, but Zen Brush is my favourite for pure drawing/ mark making. Very simple, very elegant. I (don't have an iPad) found it installed on an iPad in an Apple Store a while back and played around for a bit. It was really beautiful on the bigger screen- almost enough to justify iPad as a 'need'. |

I tried Zen Brush a long time ago, but forgot about it. I downloaded it and tried again.
Zen Brush is slick and clean, but I've gotten addicted to the ease of zooming in Procreate. Most of my work is very intricate so zooming in allows me precision in where I start strokes. Also, Procreate has lots of layers so I can try new motifs without fear of messing up what I've already done.
When I first looked at the brushes in Procreate, it was mind boggling, but I've been playing with them all day and they are pretty nifty. I'm guessing you could create a zillion different brushes and you can save any that you want to reuse.
I'm still using my first gen iPad, so when I get my new one in the fall, I should be ready to go to town.
