I have been searching for a decent note taking iPad app that supports a map view. Something like dropping pins on a map with extensive notes tied to each location. Export functions for notes would be great. The built-in maps app supports pins but doesn't have space for notes.

I found one app, Location Notes Ultimate, but it's a bit less than ultimate and it appears that the developer has abandoned the product. This app is only for the iPhone (screen doubling for iPad which is okay but limiting) and has a very limited, single note field. You can add a photo with notes but I'd like multiple photos with each note. It would be great if the note page/pages attached to each pin could be more a free form note page rather than designated fields.

This is for business location research, not recreation (camping, hiking, etc) but I can see the benefit of an app of this nature for holiday/adventure planning. We are currently going to eliminate the map requirement and use Circus Ponies Notebook for the note taking (it would be great if this app had a map page with links to note pages, I'm going to suggest it to Circus Ponies).

Does anyone here have experience with any other mapping/note apps?

Is this something that could be done in FileMaker (don't know about map support and I think a database would be too rigid)?
