Updated - no issues. I updated directly from iTunes this time from 5.1 to 5.1.1 and it didn't restore the entire phone like the updates through iTunes used to this time around.

Updating via my phone itself. White bar is.... halfway across the screen installing I believe.

I wish apple could make this more of a suggestion than an order!! I got one of those 6GB deals when the iPhone 4 came out, and I can easily afford to download large app updates, and would rather save the wifi bandwidth to non-ios related download!

Yeah I was just going to say. Same thing. I have a 6gb cap and yet I can never really reach that. Essentially if Telus won't let me download anything above 20mb through the App store or whatever. Sorry side rant....

it updated my iPhone 4 to the new iOS on monday and I didn't know it at the time but I had no service, it told me I need to restore my phone using iTunes. Okay, restored, updated, synced and then it said this phone can't be restored. Okay did the whole process again only to to be back to no service. Tried it a third time and it was back to normal. Later that evening, no service - restore phone please. Okay, restored, updated, synced and working fine. Went to bed, woke up, no service. repeated process, working again, went to work. mid morning guess what, no service. called apple support and he says "oh". I restored once again and wow imagine that, service. had lunch back to work, only to discover, you won't guess will you, no service. called and made an appointment with the geniuses in burlington. meanwhile, restore and wow! service! partway through the afternoon ... guess.... no service. got to my appointment and they give me a new phone, genius helps me set it up with the basics and the previous iOS because one of my sync files might be causing all this???? got home with a crippled new phone, restored it to factory, updated and synced around dinner time. Woke up this morning, so far so good.

Wow what an ordeal! My phones (3GS) has been handling the upgrade really well! No probs whatsoever! Better battery life I think. I'll give it a week to avg out usage etc.

replacement phone is holding up well so far, maybe it was hardware related to the other phone, either way i'll let you know if something happens.

I still can't access airplay or home sharing between my Mac Pro and the ipad or iphone. Something disconnected somewhere along the way and I can't for the life of me figure it out.
No problem with the ATV2 and the Mac Pro.
