iPhone pictures not showing up with proper orientation
More and more I am seeing and having issues myself with iPhone pictures not resulting in the proper orientation when sent out. Pictures showing up upside down, pictures shot using the phone vertical showing up horizontal.
I have not had the issue at all on my iPhone 4. When I do shoot with it, I make sure the home button is at the bottom when shooting verticals and to the right when shooting horizontals or video. Not sure if that makes any difference or not, but all pics have been oriented perfectly ever since I started using the iPhone this way.

I shouldn't matter, and generally I haven't seen this issue much(only on windows), iPhones save the camera orientation as part of the exif data but some software packages do not recognize this info.
I have seen it happen on my wife's iPhone but oddly, she takes a photo and it looks fine in iPhoto but if she uploads it (to something like Kijiji) the images are flipped like yours

Ya this is annoying. How can I with any confidence send a picture to someone and not know if it will be the correct orientation.
