Post IMOVIE 09 project work with IMOVIE 11 in OS Lion?

Hey guys,

My boss just recently made a purchase for the IMAC 27" 3.1 GHz 4GB ram--running LION.

The problem is we using IMOVIE 09 on his older 21" IMAC and, Now I'm looking to bring in some older unfinished projects to the new IMOVIE 11 on the new IMAC.

IS this going to be possible? I have both the projects and events for these files on an external drive.

Any support would be great. Can't get too backed up here...clients are waiting.

I don't know (no way for me to test), but I would be surprised ... nay, SHOCKED ... if it worked.

It should work. The one or 2 iMovie 09 projects opened with no problem that I could see.

+1

I would venture a guess that the new version of iMovie is backwards compatible.
I seem to recall bringing older iMovie projects into newer versions of the program and not encountering a problem.

I think you guys are misreading the question -- the OP is asking if a project begun in iMovie '11 can be opened in iMovie '09.

Yes I have been troubleshooting for a part of today......

So basically you can bring the files in ONLY as EVENTS which is the mov clips.

I managed to get one event imported into the browser..... then it recognized the other project events within that master folder(hard drive). So I ended up with a full event browser.

But you cannot simply import the old projects right off the bat.....It didn't work for me.
When i went to import an Imovie hd project from the folder......none of the files are highlighted...so you can't touch them.
